Independent household-energy utility
BaytMeter turns product labels and household assumptions into visible calculations.
BaytMeter is a bilingual educational project for Saudi households. It helps people estimate electricity, cooling, appliance and backup-power decisions without presenting an estimate as an official bill, engineering design or guaranteed saving.
How the work is produced
Calculator formulas are written as testable code, checked at tariff boundaries and documented on the methodology page. Guides start with a specific household question, use primary public sources and preserve uncertainty when a model number, schedule or measured value is missing.
Editorial standard
BaytMeter separates electrical input from output capacity, product suitability from running cost, and arithmetic from recommendations. It does not invent test results, customer reviews, professional credentials or a universal saving percentage. Important assumptions and exclusions remain visible beside each result.
Source and correction process
Tariffs, tax, label rules and official guidance are checked before launch and on a recurring schedule. Source dates appear with the methodology and guides. A claim that no longer matches its primary source is corrected or removed; calculator changes must pass automated checks before publication.
Commercial independence
The pilot begins without advertising or affiliate links. If commercial links are later approved, they will be disclosed, will not change calculator results and will not turn an unverified product claim into a recommendation. BaytMeter is not affiliated with Saudi Electricity, SERA, SEEC, SASO, ZATCA or ENERGY STAR.
