How to read a Saudi energy-efficiency label
Use regulated, verifiable specifications instead of relying on sales copy.
Find the product identity
Match the brand and model on the label to the exact product offered. A similar-looking model may have different capacity, electrical input or efficiency.
Read the decision fields
For an AC, separate cooling capacity, electrical input and seasonal efficiency. For other appliances, use the published annual consumption where available because it is usually more useful than peak watts alone.
Verify before recommending

Confirm that the label is current
Photograph the label and product model before purchase, then compare them with the official verification resource. Retail listings can reuse images across several variants. A valid decision requires the label for the exact model and market, not a nearby model with a similar name.
Standardized use is a benchmark
Annual kWh on an efficiency label supports consistent product comparison, but your household can use more or less. Climate, thermostat settings, occupants, maintenance and schedule affect actual energy. Treat the label as a comparable benchmark and test your own usage range separately.
Convert energy into ownership cost
Multiply verified annual kWh by an appropriate tariff scenario, then add purchase, installation and expected maintenance. Subtract any defensible resale value. A product with the lowest annual kWh is not automatically the lowest-cost choice if its price premium is much larger than plausible energy savings.
Record the fields that matter
Keep the model number, capacity, electrical input, annual kWh, efficiency indicator, label date and verification result with the quoted price. This small evidence pack prevents accidental model substitution and makes a later payback calculation auditable instead of depending on memory or sales language.
